Transforming Plastic Bottles into Art
In 2019, Camden, NJ was announced as a winner in our Public Art Challenge, receiving $1 million for “A New View”, a public art project with Camden Community Partnership and Rutgers University Camden to transform sites used for illegal dumping along major transit corridors into spaces for arts programming including installations, creative programming, and more. “Turntable” creators, SLO Architects, explain how they’re recuperating forgotten objects like plastic bottles and face masks from waste sites and turning them into collective objects of architecture for the entire community to enjoy and be inspired by.
